Today, Major General Mohammed Omar Al-Yemeni, the Commander of the Second Military Region, inaugurated the second phase of the 2026 combat training year at the Second Coastal Defense Brigade. He emphasized that this phase continues the efforts to enhance combat readiness and strengthen the capabilities of personnel in the region.
Acknowledging Efforts and Discipline
During the ceremony, Major General Al-Yemeni praised the strength, determination, and high level of discipline exhibited by the brigade members. He commended the leadership of the brigade for their commitment to developing the skills of officers and soldiers, pushing them toward advanced training and qualification levels. He noted that the current readiness of the region’s forces results from systematic training plans and programs.
Restoring Combat Readiness
Major General Al-Yemeni highlighted that the region’s forces have regained over 90% of their overall combat readiness. This recovery stems from the continuous efforts and sacrifices made by personnel, which have thwarted attempts by enemies of Hadramout to undermine its security and stability. He stressed that training remains the cornerstone of building a professional fighter.
Commitment to Training Programs
In his remarks, Brigadier General Said Abdullah Baqoud, the Commander of the Second Coastal Defense Brigade, welcomed Major General Al-Yemeni and accompanying military leaders. He stated that their presence serves as a significant morale booster. Brigadier General Baqoud assured that the brigade’s leadership would continue to implement training programs and plans for the second half of 2026, further enhancing combat readiness and solidifying the brigade’s operational role within the Second Military Region.

The ceremony featured a military display executed by symbolic units from the brigade, showcasing their discipline and readiness. Additionally, the event included demonstrations of various weapons and military equipment, with explanations of their technical specifications and usage.
