Key Discussions on Military Readiness and Coordination

Today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, General Staff Chief and Joint Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, held a significant meeting with the leadership of the Abyan Axis. The meeting included several commanders from various brigades and units within the Axis, alongside the Deputy Chief of General Staff, Major General Ahmed al-Basr.

Updates on Forces and Operational Plans

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz received summarized reports from Abyan Axis Commander, Brigadier General Sand al-Rahwa. These reports outlined the current status of the forces, their deployment across the operational theater, and the progress of both training and operational plans.

Recognition of Sacrifices and Commitment

In his address, Lieutenant General bin Aziz conveyed the greetings of President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the members of the Presidential Leadership Council. He expressed pride in the sacrifices made by the leaders and heroes of the Abyan Axis, alongside other military and security formations. Their exceptional valor in defending the nation against the Houthi terrorist organization and other affiliated terrorist groups deserves recognition.

Emphasizing Readiness and Coordination

The Chief of Staff stressed the importance of enhancing readiness, discipline, and preparedness in this existential battle. He called for unity and cohesion within the armed forces, emphasizing the need for rigorous training to ensure personnel can execute constitutional and national duties effectively and courageously. Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity of coordination and cooperation between the army and security forces to improve operational execution and contribute to establishing security and stability.

The Path to Restoring State Authority

Lieutenant General bin Aziz pointed out that the current situation in Yemen requires a collective effort to restore state authority and end the Houthi rebellion, which poses threats both locally and internationally. He asserted that achieving a just and lasting peace, a goal shared by all Yemenis, hinges on dismantling the Iranian-backed Houthi rebellion and restoring the Yemeni state institutions.

This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment of Yemen’s military leadership to address the challenges facing the nation and to work towards a more secure and stable future.
