On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened a significant meeting with leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and heads of diplomatic missions. The meeting took place with the attendance of Foreign Minister Dr. Sha’if Al-Zandani.
During the meeting, President Alimi expressed profound appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions. He emphasized their crucial role in serving national interests, defending the legal status of the state, and ensuring Yemen’s voice remains prominent in regional and international forums.
President Alimi briefed the leaders on the current local situation, highlighting intertwined challenges and available opportunities to improve living conditions. He urged them to advance efforts to restore state institutions and to end the Houthi militia’s terrorist activities, which are supported by the Iranian regime.
In his remarks, President Alimi stated, “We meet today at a critical juncture in our national struggle, where we rely heavily on Yemeni diplomacy to secure comprehensive international support for the long-awaited liberation battle our people have been waiting for.”
The President stressed the essential role of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in responding to current developments. He called for effective engagement at all levels to address the evolving situation.
President Alimi added, “We need to intensify efforts both domestically and internationally to demonstrate the readiness and efficiency of the Yemeni state in accommodating humanitarian aid and commercial vessels while eliminating terrorist threats.”
He highlighted the importance of exposing the Houthi militia’s severe human rights violations. He clarified that these actions are not part of a peace initiative but represent a persistent threat to regional and international security.
The President underscored the necessity of coordination and collaboration with regional and international organizations, including the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab League, and the United Nations. He aims to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and fulfill their aspirations for stability, peace, and development, similar to other nations worldwide.
The meeting also included Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidential Office, and Mustafa Naaman, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
