On Saturday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, held a meeting with the leadership of the Shura Council. The meeting included Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Dagher, along with council members Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Abu Al-Ghaith and Engineer Wahi Taha Aman.
During the meeting, President Alimi updated the Shura Council leadership on the latest developments across various sectors. He highlighted the ongoing comprehensive reform process and the government’s efforts to implement the economic recovery plan. This plan aims to strengthen the national currency and improve living conditions for citizens.
President Alimi emphasized the importance of continuing coordinated reforms with regional and international partners. He stated that these reforms are essential for the legitimacy of the state and for ensuring the flow of international aid.
He acknowledged the progress made in price reforms and the independence of the Central Bank. However, he stressed the need for further actions, particularly in enhancing revenue, governance, transparency, and accountability.
The President underscored the critical role of the Shura Council and all state institutions in maintaining existing agreements. He called for building trust among national components opposing the Iranian-backed Houthi agenda.
In this context, President Alimi expressed profound gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He praised their significant role in supporting the current consensus and their ongoing commitment to the unity of the republican front, which serves the Yemeni people’s progress and stability.
He also appreciated the Saudi and Emirati support in economic, developmental, and humanitarian areas, which has acted as a safeguard for the state during these extraordinary times.
In response, the President and members of the Shura Council reiterated their full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government. They committed to enhancing national consensus in the battle to restore state institutions and end the Houthi terrorist coup backed by the Iranian regime.
The meeting also included the presence of Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
