On Wednesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, received the credentials of George Cristian Maior, the new Romanian Ambassador to Yemen. The ceremony took place at the Maashiq Palace in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital. Ambassador Maior conveyed warm greetings from the Romanian leadership, wishing President Alimi good health and happiness, as well as peace and stability for the Yemeni people.
Following the credential presentation, President Alimi engaged in a meeting with Ambassador Maior. They discussed the bilateral relations between Yemen and Romania, with a particular focus on educational cooperation. The two leaders also addressed the current developments in Yemen and other mutual interests.
President Alimi expressed his commitment to providing all necessary support and facilitation to the Romanian ambassador. He emphasized the importance of enhancing the bilateral relationship between the two nations and their peoples.
The ceremony and subsequent meeting also saw the attendance of Dr. Sha’i Al-Zindani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, highlighting the importance of the event in the context of Yemen’s foreign relations.
This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening ties between Yemen and Romania, particularly in the fields of education and mutual cooperation.
