On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, welcomed Kuwaiti Ambassador Falah Al-Hajraf. This meeting marked the conclusion of Al-Hajraf’s tenure as his country’s ambassador to Yemen.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Hajraf conveyed warm greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He expressed their wishes for good health and happiness for President Alimi and the council members, as well as security, stability, and peace for the Yemeni people.
In response, President Alimi asked Ambassador Al-Hajraf to relay his greetings and those of the council members to the Kuwaiti leadership. He wished the Kuwaiti people continued progress and prosperity under their wise leadership.
President Alimi praised Ambassador Al-Hajraf’s efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Yemen and Kuwait. He expressed hope for the ambassador’s success in his future endeavors.
The President emphasized the deep and distinguished brotherly relations between Yemen and Kuwait. He highlighted the mutual commitment to enhance and develop these ties across various sectors. Alimi commended Kuwait’s honorable stance alongside Yemen, particularly its humanitarian and developmental interventions that have alleviated the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The discussion also addressed recent regional developments, particularly the military escalation in the area and blatant Iranian aggressions against the sovereignty of several neighboring countries. These actions represent a serious violation of the United Nations Charter and international law, with dire implications for global peace and security.
President Alimi reiterated Yemen’s firm stance against these aggressions. He expressed full solidarity with Kuwait and other regional allies, supporting their measures to protect their security, sovereignty, and the safety of their citizens.
Additionally, President Alimi praised the defensive capabilities of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. He stressed the importance of close coordination to address shared regional challenges effectively.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Hajraf expressed gratitude to President Alimi. He commended the strong bilateral relations and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to continue supporting Yemen and its people. The ambassador also emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in various fields.
The meeting included Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidential Office, who contributed to the discussions.
This meeting underscores the enduring partnership between Yemen and Kuwait, highlighting their shared commitment to regional stability and cooperation.
