This meeting underscores the importance of fostering strong diplomatic ties between Yemen and Arab nations.

During the meeting, President Alimi expressed his pleasure at the gathering. He tasked the Arab ambassadors with conveying his greetings to fellow Arab leaders, wishing them health and happiness. President Alimi shared insights from his recent visit to Moscow, where he engaged in fruitful discussions with President Vladimir Putin and senior officials from the State Duma and the Russian government. The President briefed the Arab diplomats on the evolving situation in Yemen, detailing the economic, humanitarian, and living challenges inflicted by the Houthi militia’s actions. He pointed out the significant destruction of infrastructure and essential services, calling for increased Arab and international support to bolster the government’s efforts in addressing these pressing issues.

Unified Arab Support for Yemen

President Alimi expressed pride in the unified Arab stance supporting Yemen’s constitutional legitimacy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He emphasized the aspirations of the Yemeni people for peace, stability, and development, highlighting the critical role of Arab nations in this endeavor.

He stated, "Without this support, the government would struggle to meet its basic obligations, including paying employee salaries."

In this context, President Alimi discussed the existential battle the Yemeni people have faced for over a decade against the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. He asserted that the Yemeni people are more determined than ever to end their suffering and dismantle this cross-border agenda.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to exhausting all efforts to persuade the Houthi militia to abandon its divisive ideology and respond to the popular will and international resolutions.
