President Alimi Offers Condolences for the Passing of Prominent Poet and Journalist

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, extended heartfelt condolences to Engineer Bassam Mahmoud Al-Haj and his brothers following the death of their father, the esteemed media figure, poet, and writer Mahmoud Ali Al-Haj. The beloved figure passed away after a distinguished career marked by creativity and dedication in journalism, media, and literature.

In his message, President Alimi, on behalf of the council and government members, expressed sincere sympathies to the family, friends, and admirers of the late poet. He praised Al-Haj’s remarkable contributions, noting that the nation has lost a significant literary and cultural icon. Al-Haj stood out as one of the most important figures in journalism and media, seamlessly blending committed journalism with high-quality poetry while consistently advocating for national and humanitarian values.

President Alimi highlighted the enduring creative legacy left by Al-Haj, emphasizing his contributions to enriching the artistic and poetic landscape. Al-Haj’s national and lyrical poems reflected his deep love for the homeland, humanity, goodness, and peace. Furthermore, the President acknowledged Al-Haj’s professional journey, which included leadership roles in journalism and television. He also served as the editor-in-chief of several cultural newspapers and magazines, and he was a founding member of both the Union of Writers and Authors and the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate.
