The Chairman of the Leadership Council convenes with the Joint Operations Authority for a strategic meeting.
President Rashad Alimi Holds Key Meeting with Joint Operations Authority

On Sunday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, convened a significant meeting with the Joint Operations Authority. The meeting included Defense Minister Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Dhaeri and Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Sagheer Bin Aziz.
Operational Readiness and Military Coordination
During the meeting, President Alimi received a briefing from the Defense Minister and the Chief of General Staff regarding the operational situation and the readiness levels of the armed forces across various fronts. The discussions focused on the current military posture and the effectiveness of coordination among different military units.
The Joint Operations Authority, which comprises representatives from all military formations, provided a report from Major General Saleh Taleb. This report detailed the Authority’s activities over the past period and assessed the execution of assigned tasks, particularly in terms of unit cooperation and information verification. These efforts aim to support decision-making and ensure a comprehensive response to ongoing challenges.
Addressing Threats and Recent Developments
The reports included an overview of the operational landscape, reflecting the Presidential Leadership Council’s decision on front-line unity and combat readiness. This preparation is crucial to counter any escalation from the Houthi militias, especially following their recent designation as a terrorist organization.
The meeting also addressed updates on U.S. airstrikes targeting military sites linked to the Iranian-backed Houthi militias. The attendees held the Houthis fully accountable for the escalation, which has led to international sanctions, militarization of regional waters, and worsening humanitarian conditions for the Yemeni people.
Peace Initiatives and Houthi Resistance
The meeting reiterated the initiatives proposed by the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Saudi-led coalition to achieve peace, end the war, and alleviate humanitarian suffering. Unfortunately, these efforts have faced persistent resistance from the Houthi militias, whose destructive actions have included the destruction of livelihoods, attacks on oil facilities, and violations of human rights.
The participants warned the Houthi militias against any further escalation, emphasizing the military’s readiness to respond decisively to any reckless actions. They called on the Houthis to abandon their expansionist Iranian agenda and align with the interests of the Yemeni people, advocating for peace based on nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon references, including UN Resolution 2216.
Commitment to Regional and International Security
The meeting reaffirmed the stance of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government that the best path to achieving regional and international security begins with supporting Yemen’s state institutions and armed forces. This approach aligns with a comprehensive strategy for partnership with the regional and international community to liberate remaining Yemeni territories and ensure global peace and security.
The meeting also saw the attendance of Major General Ahmed Al-Aqeeli, Director of the Supreme Commander’s Office, underscoring the importance of this strategic discussion.
