The Chairman of the Leadership Council affirmed commitment to the aspirations of our people in militia areas and to opening doors for peace.

President Alimi Reaffirms Commitment to Yemeni Citizens Under Houthi Control
On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a strong message to the Yemeni people living in areas under Houthi control. He emphasized the government’s dedication to protecting their interests, alleviating their suffering, and working towards restoring state institutions and achieving lasting peace in Yemen.
Acknowledging the Spirit of the Republic
In a series of posts on the social media platform X, President Alimi stated, “Our people in areas under the forceful control of the terrorist militias represent the spirit of the Republic.” He assured citizens that the government would not abandon their aspirations, regardless of the sacrifices required. Over the years, the government has made numerous initiatives to ease the hardships faced by citizens and to open pathways for peace. However, he noted that the rogue militias consistently chose escalation and crises over fulfilling these obligations, using the suffering of Yemenis to further their own agendas.
Clarifying the Situation at Sana’a Airport
President Alimi clarified that the government has never been responsible for the disruption of flights at Sana’a Airport. He highlighted that the government proposed multiple initiatives to resume flights through the national carrier, ensuring all Yemenis could travel without discrimination. Unfortunately, the militias have detained Yemenia Airlines’ planes, seized its funds, and destroyed its capabilities, showing little regard for the severe consequences faced by citizens.
A Call to Yemeni Tribes and Families
The President also issued a heartfelt appeal to Yemeni tribes and parents across various provinces. He urged them not to allow the militias to involve their children in senseless wars that do not serve the future of their homeland. He reaffirmed that the Republic was established to protect the dignity of all Yemenis and that real change begins with supporting the state’s project, justice, the rule of law, and equal citizenship.
Commitment to National Sovereignty and Peace
President Alimi reiterated that the state will continue to fulfill its constitutional duty to protect national sovereignty and safeguard citizens’ interests through all its institutions and armed forces. He pointed out that past experiences have shown that policies of extortion and escalation have only brought more suffering and destruction to the country.
A Vision for Lasting Peace
The President concluded by stating that the government remains open to any sincere efforts that lead to a fair and sustainable peace, one that ends the coup, restores state institutions, preserves the dignity of all Yemenis, and achieves the security and stability that the Yemeni people deserve.
