The Syrian Arab Republic has strongly condemned the continuous violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Syrian territory. The latest incident involves the completion of work on what is referred to as “Sofa Line 53,” which constitutes a blatant breach of the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement and a flagrant violation of international law.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement through the Syrian Arab News Agency, asserting that the ongoing aggressive approach of the Israeli occupation, accompanied by assaults and ground incursions, poses a direct threat to regional security and stability. Furthermore, it undermines the principles of international law.
The ministry urged the international community to take decisive measures to halt these practices and prevent their recurrence. Syria reiterated its commitment to its legitimate right to exercise full sovereignty over all its territory, in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Additionally, it called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities in safeguarding the sovereignty of nations and respecting the sanctity of their borders.
