Successful Conclusion of Unified Arab Traffic Week

The Unified Arab Traffic Week concluded today in Marib Governorate, organized by the local traffic police from May 4 to May 10. This week-long initiative featured a variety of activities designed to raise traffic awareness and reduce accidents alongside their associated losses.

Official Visits and Awareness Activities

During the closing events, Marib Deputy Governor Mohammed Al-Muawadi, accompanied by the Assistant Director of the Governorate Police, Brigadier General Yahya Al-Akaw, visited the photo exhibition associated with the Arab Traffic Week. They attended a presentation by Traffic Police Director Brigadier General Ghanem Marah, who detailed the exhibition’s content, which included statistics and charts on actions taken, traffic violations, and accidents.

The exhibition also displayed awareness images highlighting the traffic police’s efforts to promote a culture of safety within the community. Serious violations were showcased, including instances of driving against traffic and unsafe conversions from gasoline to gas. Deputy Governor Al-Muawadi and the Traffic Police Director further conducted a field tour of several streets, observing the organization of traffic and the presence of traffic officers alongside students from Shalaan College of Police Sciences. They participated in distributing awareness posters and brochures to vehicle drivers.

Recognition of Efforts and Impact on Road Safety

Deputy Governor Al-Muawadi commended the organization and visible presence of traffic police personnel and Shalaan College students, emphasizing the critical role of awareness efforts in enhancing road safety. He noted the positive trends reflected in the statistics recorded during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.

He stressed that improving road safety requires collaboration between official and community efforts, along with cooperation from traffic officers to protect lives and property while ensuring a smooth flow of traffic.

In a related development, Marib Traffic Police Director Brigadier General Ghanem Marah received a commendation plaque from the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund of the governorate. This recognition acknowledged the traffic department’s role in facilitating cleanliness and beautification initiatives within the city. Mohammed Al-Saeedi, Deputy Executive Director of the Cleanliness Fund, highlighted the essential partnership of the traffic police in the success of these operations.

During an awareness lecture, Brigadier General Marah underscored the importance of adhering to traffic rules and maintaining vehicles. In a press statement, he noted the success of the Arab Traffic Week activities, highlighting that no traffic violations occurred on the final day of the events. This outcome reflects the level of traffic awareness fostered by the initiatives.

In conclusion, Brigadier General Ghanem Marah expressed gratitude to all supporting entities that contributed to the success of the events and the promotion of traffic awareness across various communities.
