Geneva Meeting Focuses on Health Projects
Today, Dr. Qassem Baheeb, Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population, met with leaders from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Geneva. The discussions centered on the implementation of health projects funded by the Global Fund in Yemen, as well as exploring strategies to strengthen partnerships that support the healthcare system amid escalating humanitarian and epidemic challenges.
Progress in Health Programs
During the meeting, which included Dr. Lynn Sosi, the Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean and Africa, and Dr. Betty Ochieng, the Director of Funding and Grants for the regions, participants reviewed the progress of programs supported by the Global Fund. They specifically highlighted ongoing efforts to combat malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS, along with initiatives that aim to strengthen health systems and enhance the capacity of Yemen’s healthcare sector.
