Sources close to Muhammad Marsh Al-Salmi, who remains imprisoned by Houthi militia in Ibb Governorate, report a significant decline in his health. Al-Salmi has been in a persistent coma for the past two weeks.
According to his sister, Al-Salmi’s condition has worsened recently. The Rasd Organization for Rights and Freedoms confirmed in early November that he was transferred to a local hospital after slipping into a coma for the third time within two weeks.
The Houthi militia has remained tight-lipped about Al-Salmi’s health status. His family has urgently called on local and international organizations to intervene and help save his life.
Al-Salmi, the former director of the Al-Aqsa Association in Ibb, underwent open-heart surgery just three months before his abduction. He suffers from seizures and carries a medical plate in his face and head. Additionally, he lives with half a skull due to a previous traffic accident.
Al-Salmi was kidnapped on July 20 during a widespread campaign that targeted numerous educational, academic, and political leaders in the region.
