Security forces in Marib have successfully thwarted a sabotage plan orchestrated by a cell linked to the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. The group aimed to destabilize the region and disrupt public peace.
An official source from the Marib Police Department reported to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that authorities apprehended the cell members while they were in the act. The security forces seized evidence establishing their direct connections to Houthi leaders in Sana’a. This operation followed meticulous surveillance of the suspects’ movements.
The detained cell belongs to a clandestine network supporting the Houthi militia. They were preparing to carry out destructive activities targeting civilians and displaced individuals. This plan aimed to incite chaos and undermine security in the province.
The source emphasized that security forces are resolutely addressing Houthi elements and their sleeper cells. They are proactively disrupting terrorist plots and will respond decisively to anyone attempting to threaten public safety. Authorities remain committed to countering any efforts that aim to disturb community tranquility.
The source praised the collaboration between citizens and security forces in maintaining stability. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals. This collective responsibility requires a united effort between law enforcement and the community to ensure ongoing security and peace.
