Scholars and preachers have condemned the missile attack launched by Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime, on a training center for security personnel in Shabwa Governorate. This attack resulted in several martyrs and injuries.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the scholars and preachers emphasized that targeting trainees represents a grave crime. They highlighted that such attacks threaten Yemen’s security and stability, calling for national unity to protect lives and state institutions.
Sheikh Abdul-Rab Al-Salami, a member of the Shura Council and the Yemen Scholars Communication Program, described the events in Shabwa as a bloody tragedy. He expressed his strong condemnation of the Houthi crimes and their project based on violence and destruction. He mourned the victims and wished for a swift recovery for the injured.
Sheikh Mohammed Al-Hazmi, a member of the House of Representatives and the Yemen Scholars Communication Program, denounced the brutality of the attack and its resulting humanitarian tragedies. He asserted that this crime reflects the Houthis’ disregard for religious, moral, and humanitarian values, holding the Houthi ideological project responsible for underestimating the lives and suffering of Yemenis.
Dr. Rabi Bin Tahir, an advisor to the Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance, stated that the Houthis’ record of violence since the six wars until today, along with the suffering inflicted on Yemenis, suffices to understand their approach and stance on opportunities for reconciliation and peace.
Sheikh Ali Barwais, a member of the Yemen Scholars Communication Program, described the targeting of trainees at the training and rehabilitation field as a condemned crime that reflects the danger of treachery and the disregard for lives. He emphasized that Yemeni blood is not permissible to spill and that treachery and deception do not create glory; rather, they lead to tragedies and hatred.
Sheikh Saleh Bin Ali Al-Hadi highlighted that targeting security trainees reveals the contradiction between the religious slogans raised by the Houthis and their actions on the ground. He questioned how these practices align with the Quranic principles regarding the sanctity of innocent blood. He stressed that condemning the crime and exposing the truth of these practices is a religious and moral duty that scholars should not remain silent about.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Wad’i, a member of the Yemen Scholars Communication Program, stated that the attack on the training center in Shabwa, located far from the front lines, represents a heinous crime that reflects the Houthis’ contempt for Yemeni blood. He warned against the continuation of such attacks and the resulting casualties and destruction.
In analyzing the implications of the attack, Ammar Al-Ariqi asserted that the Houthi missile attack on the training center in Shabwa serves as a renewed warning about the danger these militias pose to Yemen, both in the north and south. He explained that targeting innocent lives contradicts the religious slogans these militias promote. He emphasized the importance of rallying around state institutions and prioritizing the public interest as essential for protecting Shabwa. He affirmed that unity and collective responsibility are fundamental pillars for safeguarding security, lives, and the future.
Sheikh Jamal Al-Saqaf, a member of the Yemen Scholars Communication Program, noted that Houthi crimes know no bounds. He pointed out that targeting security trainees, who are responsible for maintaining order and stability in Shabwa, underscores the severity of the attacks affecting Yemenis in various regions. He added that this crime confirms that the threat from the Houthis does not differentiate between north and south, accusing the Houthi militias of disregarding the sanctity of innocent lives and indicating that their assaults have extended to religious sanctities, including Mecca and Medina.
