Today, a ceremony took place in Al-Mahra Province to distribute 48 hearing aids along with custom molds for students with hearing impairments. The event was organized by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in collaboration with its implementing partner, Yamani Foundation.
This distribution initiative aims to assist 380 children with hearing disabilities across six provinces: Al-Mahra, Aden, Lahij, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Al-Dhale. This effort is part of the second phase of a project designed to address local capacity-building needs for educating illiterate students and those with disabilities. The project receives funding from the King Salman Center.
Ahmad Qwaizan, the Technical Affairs Undersecretary of Al-Mahra Province, emphasized the project’s significance. He noted that it addresses the challenges educational institutions face in supporting children with disabilities. This initiative plays a crucial role in enhancing educational opportunities for these children.
Hafez Al-Nahari, the coordinator of Yamani Foundation, expressed the organization’s commitment to ensuring that children benefit from the distribution of hearing aids. He highlighted that this initiative will facilitate their access to education, allowing them to learn alongside their peers.
The ceremony attracted several key figures, including Faiyaz Balhaf, the Director General of the Social Affairs Office in Al-Mahra, Ali Al-Mutairi, the Deputy Assistant of the King Salman Center in Al-Mahra, and Salem Al-Saqaf, the Relief Coordinator at the King Salman Center. Their presence underscored the importance of this initiative in promoting inclusivity in education for children with disabilities.
