Saudi Arabia, as the chair of the Global Coalition for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, recently hosted a high-level coordination meeting in Riyadh. This event took place in partnership with the European Union and Norway, featuring senior representatives from various countries and international organizations.
Dr. Manal bint Hassan Radwan, the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state. She emphasized that this goal represents both a regional and international moral responsibility and is essential for achieving security and peace in the region.
The discussions drew upon the New York Declaration, former U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace proposal, and the Sharm El Sheikh Declaration. The aim was to ensure a cohesive approach that integrates diplomatic, humanitarian, and institutional pathways.
This meeting marked a pivotal step in developing a comprehensive action plan for managing the transitional phase and realizing the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The gathering also highlighted the urgent need for international support for the Palestinian Authority’s budget, calling on the global community to provide immediate financial assistance amid ongoing withholding of tax revenues.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the evolving situation in the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of delivering humanitarian aid. Participants underscored the critical role of UNRWA in providing essential services to the Palestinian people.
This high-level meeting reflects a collective effort to advance the two-state solution and address pressing humanitarian needs in the region.
