Saudi Arabia and Egypt Reaffirm Support for Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council

Saudi Arabia and Egypt have expressed their unwavering support for the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen. Both nations emphasized the importance of fully backing international and regional efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive political solution to the ongoing Yemeni crisis. Their joint statement, released today, underscores a commitment to ensuring the unity and stability of Yemen for its people.

This declaration followed a visit by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to Egypt, responding to an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The meeting aimed to strengthen ties and coordinate efforts regarding regional stability, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Egypt Praises Saudi Initiatives

During the discussions, Egyptian officials lauded Saudi Arabia for its numerous initiatives designed to foster dialogue and reconciliation among Yemeni factions. They acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s vital role in facilitating humanitarian aid across Yemen, which remains crucial amid the ongoing conflict. In turn, Saudi representatives commended Egypt’s efforts in de-escalating tensions in the region and supporting comprehensive solutions to the Yemeni crisis that align with the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
