This latest action follows closely on the heels of a prominent Houthi leader’s recent seizure of land belonging to the Police Academy in Sana’a. The leader fenced off the property and incorporated it into his private holdings, despite its ownership by the academy since the 1970s. The land had previously functioned as a parking area and service facility for the institution.

Reports indicate that the Houthi militia has intensified its efforts in recent years to acquire government lands and properties.
