Pure Hands Distributes Food and Shelter Aid to Displaced Families in Al-Ribat Camp
Pure Hands Organization distributed food and shelter assistance today to displaced families in Al-Ribat Camp, located in Lahij Governorate. This initiative is part of the second phase of the emergency response project aimed at supporting families displaced recently due to the recent escalation by Houthi militia in Taiz and Hodeidah Governorates.
Local Officials Praise Humanitarian Efforts
During the distribution, Omar Al-Samati, the Director of the Executive Unit for Managing Displaced Persons Camps in Lahij, praised the organization’s efforts and its emergency response to support the displaced. He noted that approximately 6,332 displaced families currently reside in the governorate, spread across six districts.
Al-Samati urged international and local organizations to enhance their humanitarian interventions. He emphasized the ongoing efforts of local authorities, the executive unit, and the emergency committee to provide essential services to the displaced.
Emergency Response Project Details
Mohammad Al-Hajjaji, the President of Pure Hands Organization, explained that the emergency response project consists of two phases aimed at delivering urgent relief and meeting the basic needs of newly displaced families.
He detailed that the first phase targeted 510 displaced families in Lahij and Taiz. This phase included shelter kits, personal and general hygiene kits, and cash assistance to cover both basic and secondary needs. Additionally, the project provided tents for the displaced families.
