Volunteer Medical Program Launched at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden

Aden, Yemen – The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in the temporary capital of Aden has officially launched a volunteer medical program focusing on urology and physical therapy. This initiative, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, features a team of skilled medical professionals from Saudi Arabia.

Diverse Medical Specialties Offered

The volunteer medical program encompasses various specialties, including pediatric cardiology, otolaryngology, open-heart surgery, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery for burns and deformities. The program aims to address the pressing humanitarian needs across all provinces, providing essential medical services to those in need.

Hospital Preparedness and Capacity

The launch of this program follows the hospital’s readiness and capabilities, enhanced by a recent operational project from the Saudi Program. Since January 2023, the hospital has recorded over 1.9 million medical consultations, demonstrating its significant impact on community health. The facility spans 20,000 square meters and includes 270 beds along with 14 specialized clinics and a dedicated heart center, all equipped with the latest medical devices and equipment.

This volunteer initiative not only enhances healthcare access in Yemen but also strengthens the collaborative efforts between Saudi Arabia and Yemen in addressing critical health challenges.
