Presidential Leadership Council Holds Key Meeting

On Sunday, the Presidential Leadership Council convened under the leadership of President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi. The meeting included members Sultan Al-Aradah, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, and remote participants Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami and Othman Majli. Notably absent were Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, and Faraj Al-Bahsani, who had valid excuses.

Economic and Service Developments Discussed

During the meeting, which also included Prime Minister Salem Saleh Bin Brek, the council addressed various local developments. The discussions primarily focused on the economic and service conditions in the country. The council evaluated the progress of comprehensive reforms supported by regional and international partners.

Commitment to Economic Reforms

The council reaffirmed its full support for the government and the Central Bank’s efforts to implement economic and financial reforms. It emphasized the importance of maintaining monetary stability, transparency, and accountability. The council highlighted that collective action and anti-corruption measures are essential for making a significant impact in the liberated provinces. These efforts aim to mobilize resources for the national struggle to restore state institutions and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Progress in Reform Initiatives

The council praised the tangible progress made in the reform process. It directed the government to take necessary actions to advance the executive matrix of the council’s decisions, ensuring that the state receives all its sovereign revenues.

Appreciation for International Support

The council expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the recovery plan and reform program. It particularly acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s efforts to expedite the deposit of budgetary grants, which have helped pay salaries for civil and military personnel, prioritizing the needs of martyrs and the wounded in recognition of their sacrifices.

Support for UN Security Council Decision

In another significant development, the council welcomed the UN Security Council’s decision to renew the mandate of the expert team associated with the sanctions committee on Yemen. The council commended the team’s report, which confirmed the terrorist nature of the Houthi militias and their links to extremist organizations, posing threats to international navigation. The council noted the continued unified international stance alongside the Yemeni people and their political leadership, supporting the government as a strategic partner in addressing shared challenges.

Conclusion of the Meeting

At the conclusion of the meeting, the council reviewed and approved the minutes of the previous session. It also conducted a brief review of the implementation status of its decisions and recommendations in coordination with relevant entities.
