PM chairs a key defense ministry meeting with top military officials and department heads.

Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak chaired a meeting on Sunday in Aden, the temporary capital, with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, and several heads of departments and directors within the ministry. The meeting focused on discussing the current military situation at the fronts of the battle amid the escalation by the Houthi militia, labeled as terrorist, and the high readiness to deter any threats.

During the meeting, Prime Minister bin Mubarak was briefed by the Minister of Defense, Major General Mohsen al-Daeri, and other ministry leadership on reports regarding the military situation, the conditions at the battlefronts, and the financial, logistical, and administrative needs to enhance the performance of the armed forces to fulfill their duties. Efforts underway to elevate their level and improve the conditions of their members were also discussed.

At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed greetings from the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council to the military leadership, appreciating their efforts and the high expectations placed on them at this critical stage. He highlighted the sacrifices and heroism displayed by the heroes of the national army, the popular resistance, tribal men, and the Yemeni people across various fronts in confronting and defeating the Houthi coup and its Iran-backed clerical project.

Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak emphasized the government’s focus, within its priorities and plans, on building a strong army based on institutional and professional foundations. He stressed the importance of keeping the army and security institutions neutral from political conflicts, addressing their conditions including the regular payment of salaries, and providing the needs of the fronts until victory in the battle for the restoration of the state, ending the coup, and preserving security and stability. He pointed out the symbolic significance of the military institution as a beacon of discipline and the importance of reflecting this in all its actions.

The Prime Minister urged the armed forces and all military formations to elevate their combat readiness and high alertness to counter any attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia and thwart their repeated attempts to revert to a state of total war, disregarding the prolonged suffering of the Yemeni people.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Engineer Anis Baharitha, and the Deputy Minister of Finance, Hani Wahab.
