Pakistani newspapers report Chinese support for mediation, alongside Saudi-Pakistani talks to ease regional tensions and boost Central Asia cooperation.

Chinese Support for Pakistani Mediation

Pakistani newspapers today highlighted China’s active support for Pakistani mediation aimed at reducing regional tensions. This assistance seeks to protect China’s economic interests and trade routes in the Arab Gulf and the Red Sea, especially amid rising geopolitical challenges.

Saudi-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Discussions

The press also focused on a recent phone conversation between the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. They discussed the evolving regional situation, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and consultation. Both parties agreed to intensify efforts to de-escalate tensions and manage conflicts effectively.

Strengthening Ties with Kazakhstan

Additionally, reports indicated that Pakistan and Kazakhstan agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in several areas. These include trade, investment, transportation, regional connectivity, energy, and people-to-people exchanges. The two nations also aim to strengthen coordination in multilateral forums.

Seasonal Rainfall Developments and Regional Cooperation

In other news, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority reported that the current monsoon season has resulted in 29 fatalities and 203 injuries. Authorities continue to issue warnings about the risks of flooding and landslides.

Furthermore, Islamabad’s newspapers discussed Pakistan’s efforts to attract Central Asian countries to utilize its maritime ports. Notable progress has emerged, with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan expressing interest in expanding cooperation in maritime transport, logistics services, and infrastructure investment. This development enhances Pakistan’s position as a regional trade corridor.
