Pakistani security authorities announced today the elimination of 10 militants affiliated with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan during two security operations conducted based on intelligence information in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwest of the country.
Security sources reported that the forces successfully eliminated seven militants in a targeted operation in the North Waziristan area. This operation resulted in the destruction of militant hideouts and the seizure of weapons and ammunition. These actions form part of the anti-terrorism efforts under the “Operation Radd-ul-Fasad” strategy implemented by the Pakistani state.
In a separate operation, the police’s Counter-Terrorism Unit reported the killing of three militants during a clash with security forces in the Tank area. Authorities seized weapons and ammunition from the militants. They clarified that the three militants were involved in previous attacks, including a bombing that killed two police officers and a civilian, injuring seven others.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the efforts of the security forces. They emphasized the continuation of operations to eliminate terrorism and pursue armed groups and their supporters.
