National Inquiry Committee discusses human rights with Aden’s Governor.

Today, in the provisional capital of Aden, the National Committee for Investigating Human Rights Violations held a meeting with the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, to discuss the human rights situation in the governorate.

During the meeting, the committee’s chair, Judge Al-Muflahi, presented the findings from the committee’s visits to detention centers in Aden. These visits aimed to inspect the conditions of detainees, the procedures of arrest, detention, investigation in accordance with the law, detainee lists, and the speed of case referrals to the Public Prosecution.

Judge Al-Muflahi, along with committee members Judges Hussein Al-Mashdali, Ishraq Al-Muqtari, Nasser Al-Awadhi, Jihad Abdul Rasool, and Dhiya Mahirez, highlighted the latest developments in human rights, the most significant complaints received by the committee, and a series of proposals aimed at facilitating and enhancing the committee’s work. They also discussed mechanisms for coordination and cooperation between the committee and local authorities to find effective solutions to numerous pending issues.

Minister Lamlas affirmed the local authority’s commitment in Aden to overcoming all obstacles and providing the necessary facilitations for the committee to perform its duties. He emphasized the importance of taking necessary actions to ensure justice, protect human rights, and address issues promptly. Lamlas praised the efforts of the National Committee for Investigation in Aden and the liberated provinces and stressed the importance of continuous communication and collective work to achieve tangible results on the ground.
