Houthi militia's movements signify a growing international threat and require urgent global action.
The Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, has expressed serious concerns regarding the ongoing departures of Houthi leaders from Sana’a to Beirut. He emphasized that these movements are not ordinary and signal a broader strategy by the Iranian regime to reorganize its operations following significant setbacks in Syria and Lebanon.
Al-Eryani stated that these actions represent a preparation for a new wave of terrorism targeting Yemen, the region, and the world. He highlighted that the threat posed by the Houthi militia has extended beyond Yemen, now directly threatening regional and international security. This assertion follows recent terrorist attacks on commercial vessels and oil tankers in international shipping lanes.
While congratulating Lebanon on its recent political advancements, including the selection of a new president and government, Al-Eryani urged the Lebanese authorities to enhance regional stability. He called for serious consideration of the dangerous movements of Houthi leaders and the implementation of appropriate measures to prevent any activities that could escalate tensions or exploit Lebanese territory for agendas that threaten regional security and international interests.
Al-Eryani appealed to the international community for immediate action to restrict the movements of Houthi leaders and to cut off their financial, political, and media resources. He warned that continued leniency towards this terrorist group would only lead to a more severe escalation and an expansion of their destructive activities. He stressed the need for stringent measures to deter the Houthis effectively.
Al-Eryani concluded by asserting that the time has come for serious and effective steps to be taken before the crisis worsens and challenges become more complex. He reiterated that the Houthi militia is not merely a local armed group but a significant international threat that requires a decisive response.
In closing, Al-Eryani emphasized that ensuring security and stability in Yemen and the surrounding region demands serious international cooperation and deterrent actions. He warned that further negligence would lead to increased chaos and destruction, resulting in larger repercussions that would be difficult to contain in the future.
