Minister of Awqaf Reviews Medical Preparedness and Accommodations for Pilgrims

Minister of Awqaf Discusses Medical Preparedness for Pilgrims

Meeting with the Medical Committee

Today, Turki Al-Wad’i, the Minister of Awqaf and Head of Yemen’s Hajj Affairs Office, held a crucial meeting with the Chairman and members of the Medical Committee for the Hajj mission. The discussions centered around the committee’s ongoing operations and the various challenges it encounters in delivering healthcare to pilgrims. Al-Wad’i emphasized the critical need to enhance medical readiness, ensuring that comprehensive healthcare services are available throughout the pilgrimage.

The Minister underscored the importance of timely responses to medical emergencies, particularly for elderly pilgrims and those with chronic health conditions. He highlighted that the success of these medical efforts relies not only on the quality of care provided but also on the reassurance felt by the pilgrims during their spiritual journey.

Acknowledgment of Medical Teams

Al-Wad’i expressed his appreciation for the dedicated medical teams stationed across the pilgrims’ accommodations and holy sites. He acknowledged their vital role in delivering continuous treatment and preventive care, ensuring that pilgrims have access to necessary medical services at all times.

Surprise Inspection of Catering Services

In a proactive measure to monitor service quality, the Minister conducted an unannounced field visit to the catering kitchens serving the pilgrims’ accommodations. During this visit, he assessed the quality of meals as well as the preparation and distribution processes, while also gathering feedback directly from the pilgrims.

Al-Wad’i reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to providing high-quality catering services. He cautioned contractors against any lapses in service quality and stressed the necessity for strict measures against entities that fail to comply with established standards.

Moreover, the Minister engaged with the Catering Oversight Committee to review the initial reports from the first day of service. He directed the committee to intensify their field monitoring efforts and promptly address any issues to enhance service levels as the Hajj season progresses.

This proactive approach by the Minister aims to ensure that all pilgrims receive the essential care and support they require during this significant spiritual journey.
