This initiative, implemented by the UNDP in collaboration with local partners, aims to rehabilitate nine fish landing centers in the provinces of Aden, Hadramout, Al-Mahra, and Taiz. The World Bank funds this project, which seeks to address various challenges to ensure smooth execution in line with established programs, in coordination with the Ministry’s leadership and relevant authorities.
Minister Al-Saqtri emphasized the importance of completing the restoration and rehabilitation work at the fishing port and the associated fish landing centers. He highlighted the ministry’s commitment to overcoming obstacles that hinder the implementation of ongoing projects in the fisheries sector. Furthermore, he expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Federal Republic of Germany and the World Bank to Yemen.
This meeting underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance Yemen’s fisheries sector, aiming for sustainable development and improved livelihoods for local communities.
