Meteorologists forecast thunderstorms in coastal and mountainous areas, with hot weather expected in desert regions.

Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center has issued a detailed weather report for Monday. The forecast indicates that coastal areas and their surroundings will experience partly cloudy skies with hot daytime temperatures and moderate conditions at night. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain in the Socotra Archipelago, as well as the eastern and western coasts. Winds will remain light to moderate along the southern coasts, while moderate to active winds are expected in parts of the eastern coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and southern western coasts.

Mountainous Areas: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected

According to the daily weather bulletin, which was shared with the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the mountainous regions will likely see partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, is possible in the western highlands stretching from Saada in the north to Taiz and Lahij in the south. This weather pattern will extend to Al-Dhale and Al-Bayda, as well as the highlands of Abyan, Al-Jawf, and Marib. In contrast, the desert and plateau areas will remain clear, with hot daytime temperatures and relatively cool nights. Winds in these regions will be moderate, occasionally stirring up dust and sand.

The expected maximum and minimum temperatures for Monday are as follows:

  • Coastal Areas:
    • Aden: 34°C / 28°C
    • Mukalla: 33°C / 27°C
    • Hodeidah: 34°C / 29°C
    • Socotra: 35°C / 24°C
    • Mokha: 33°C / 27°C
    • Al-Ghaydah: 34°C / 25°C
    • Zinjibar: 34°C / 27°C
    • Lahij: 35°C / 26°C
  • Desert and Plateau Areas:
    • Sayun: 39°C / 20°C
    • Marib: 38°C / 23°C
    • Ataq: 37°C / 22°C
    • Bayhan: 36°C / 23°C
  • Mountainous Areas:
    • Sana’a: 30°C / 13°C
    • Taiz: 32°C / 18°C
    • Dhamar: 27°C / 12°C
    • Al-Dhale: 31°C / 17°C
    • Ibb: 28°C / 16°C
    • Al-Bayda: 29°C / 13°C

Safety Warnings for Citizens

The center has issued a warning to citizens and vehicle drivers in areas expecting rainfall. They should avoid valleys and low-lying areas prone to thunderstorms. Additionally, residents in desert and coastal regions should take precautions against the hot weather and direct sun exposure. The center recommends staying hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.

Marine Conditions: Calm Seas Expected

In its daily marine bulletin, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts calm sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the western coasts, including the Socotra Archipelago. The sea conditions in the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea will also remain calm.
