Cold Weather Forecast for Mountainous Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts extremely cold weather in mountainous areas today, Sunday. Coastal areas will experience mild temperatures, while desert and plateau regions will have a mix of moderate daytime temperatures and cooler nights.

Weather Conditions in Mountainous Areas

According to the daily weather bulletin released by the center, various weather maps, satellite images, and global numerical model outputs indicate clear skies in the mountainous regions. However, temperatures will drop significantly during the night and early morning, especially in the western highlands, where frost may form in certain areas.

Coastal and Desert Weather Outlook

The center also forecasts partly cloudy skies along the coastal regions, with moderate temperatures. There is a chance of scattered rain in parts of the Socotra Archipelago. Light to moderate winds will blow along the southern coasts, while stronger winds, reaching up to 28 knots, will affect the Socotra Archipelago and the southern western coasts. In desert and plateau areas, expect clear skies with moderate daytime temperatures, but cooler nights, accompanied by moderate winds that may stir up dust and sand.
