Meteorologists forecast mild weather along coastal areas and thunderstorms with rain in mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts partially cloudy weather across coastal areas and nearby regions today, Friday. The forecast indicates mild temperatures with a chance of light rain in parts of the eastern and southern coasts. Winds will vary from light to moderate along the eastern shores, while they will be active on the southwestern coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and western shores, reaching speeds of 20 to 35 knots, stirring up dust and sand.

Mountainous and Desert Weather Conditions

In its daily weather bulletin, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the center anticipates partially cloudy conditions in the mountainous regions. Scattered rain, occasionally accompanied by thunder, may occur in parts of the western slopes and highlands. Meanwhile, the desert and plateau areas will experience generally clear weather, with moderate to active winds that may raise dust and sand.

Temperature Predictions

According to the weather bulletin, the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today, Friday, in coastal and nearby areas are as follows:

  • Aden: 31°C / 23°C
  • Mukalla: 30°C / 24°C
  • Hodeidah: 32°C / 26°C
  • Socotra: 33°C / 23°C
  • Mokha: 31°C / 25°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 34°C / 22°C
  • Zinjibar: 31°C / 22°C
  • Lahij: 32°C / 21°C

In the desert and plateau regions, temperatures are expected to be:

  • Sayun: 37°C / 19°C
  • Marib: 36°C / 17°C
  • Ataq: 35°C / 20°C
  • Bayhan: 33°C / 19°C

For the mountainous areas, the temperatures will be:

  • Sana’a: 29°C / 09°C
  • Taiz: 29°C / 15°C
  • Dhamar: 27°C / 08°C
  • Al-Dhale: 29°C / 15°C
  • Ibb: 29°C / 13°C
  • Al-Bayda: 28°C / 12°C

Safety Precautions for Rainfall Areas

The center urges citizens in areas expecting rainfall to exercise caution and avoid staying in riverbeds during and after rain events.

Marine Conditions and Warnings

In its daily marine bulletin, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center forecasts calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, and Shabwa. Moderate waves are expected along the coasts of Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Socotra Archipelago. In contrast, the western coasts may experience moderate to rough seas. The center also indicates that the sea conditions in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden will be moderate, while the Red Sea may see rough waves. Fishermen and sea-goers in the western coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea should remain vigilant due to potential sea disturbances, high waves, and strong winds.
