The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a forecast for Wednesday, predicting the continuation of unstable weather conditions across various Yemeni governorates. The forecast includes heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail and downdraft winds.
According to the center’s 24-hour forecast, heavy rainfall accompanied by hail is expected to hit the highlands of several governorates, including Saada, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Al Dhale’e, Al Bayda, the Tihama plain, and the coastal areas of Hajjah, Hodeidah, and Taiz.
Additionally, scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity might occur in parts of Lahj, Abyan, Marib, Al Jawf, Shabwah, Al Mahrah, Hadramout, and the southern coasts.
The Meteorological Center has issued warnings to citizens in the affected areas to avoid valleys and flood pathways and to seek shelter from thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail. Drivers on mountain roads are cautioned about reduced visibility due to rainfall, the formation of dense cumulonimbus clouds, and potential rock slides and mudbrick building collapses.
The National Center has appealed to official entities to take necessary precautions to protect lives and property and to follow the reports and bulletins it issues. This proactive approach aims to minimize the impact of the expected adverse weather conditions on the region’s residents and infrastructure.
This forecast underscores the importance of staying informed and prepared for severe weather conditions, especially in areas prone to heavy rains and thunderstorms.
