In a heartwarming display of joy and community spirit, the city of Marib hosted a grand group wedding ceremony for 280 brides and grooms from Dhamar province. This festive event, organized by the Supreme Council for Resistance in Dhamar, drew significant attention and participation from the families and friends of the happy couples.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Raima province’s Governor, Major General Mohammed Al-Hoori, along with several deputy governors and heads of departments from the Ministry of Defense. General Saghir bin Aziz, the Chief of the General Staff, praised the meticulous planning and organization that went into the grand wedding. He highlighted the event’s role in fostering cooperation, solidarity, and social cohesion among the residents of the province.
Mohammed Abdulwahab Ma’wada, the Deputy Governor of Dhamar, extended heartfelt congratulations to the couples, blessing their union. He emphasized that the wedding symbolizes the values of compassion, unity, cooperation, and support that bind the community together. Ma’wada also noted that the timing of the wedding, coinciding with the 62nd anniversary of the Yemeni Revolution on September 26, adds a layer of patriotic pride to the celebrations.
Mohammed Al-Marami, the Secretary-General of the Resistance Council in Dhamar and head of the wedding’s organizing committee, remarked that the event serves as a gesture of gratitude and duty towards those who have made significant sacrifices for the nation. This includes the families of martyrs, the wounded, prisoners, and those who were abducted and spent years in militia jails.
The group wedding featured a variety of cultural performances, including poetry readings, artistic segments, traditional dances, and folk songs that reflected the joy of the occasion. The event also included diverse patriotic and joyful musical performances that were well-received by the attendees. Notably, the ceremony attracted a large audience, including tribal leaders, political and military figures, and a wide array of citizens, showcasing widespread support for the initiative.
This celebration in Marib not only marked the union of 280 couples but also stood as a testament to the enduring spirit and unity of the Yemeni people, particularly those from Dhamar province. The event’s success highlights the community’s commitment to supporting one another and celebrating life’s milestones together, even in the face of challenges.
