Official and Public Funeral Held for National Duty Heroes in Marib
On Friday, a solemn funeral procession took place in Marib, honoring the fallen heroes from the First Military Region. These brave soldiers lost their lives while fulfilling their duty during an attack by armed groups affiliated with the Transitional Council in Hadramout.
Military and Civilian Leaders Attend
The procession featured prominent figures, including the Chief of General Staff and Joint Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz. Military and security leaders, members of the Parliament, government officials, tribal leaders, and community members joined the families of the martyrs and numerous citizens in paying their respects.
Prayer and Official Ceremonies
Attendees held prayers for the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers before the official funeral rites commenced. The ceremony included a military honor guard and music, culminating in a procession to the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Marib, where the fallen soldiers were laid to rest.
Tributes to the Fallen
During the funeral, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the families of the martyrs and their comrades in the armed forces and security. He emphasized that their sacrifices would remain etched in the memories of Yemenis, highlighting their commitment to their oath and service to the nation.
Commitment to National Unity
The attendees reaffirmed their pledge to follow in the footsteps of the martyrs, vowing to restore the state and combat the Iran-backed Houthi militia while safeguarding national achievements and principles.
Previous Burials and Ongoing Concerns
It is noteworthy that some of the martyrs’ bodies were previously buried in Sayoun by their families, while several others remain with the Transitional Council.
