Graduation Ceremony for Female Police Trainees in Marib
The Police Training and Qualification School in Marib celebrated the graduation of its third cohort of female police trainees today. This group, consisting of 84 trainees from the Ministry of Interior, included participants from the capital, Sana’a, as well as the provinces of Ibb, Amran, and Al-Mahwit, who successfully completed their training program.
Emphasizing Professional Development
During the graduation ceremony, Major General Mohammed Al-Sharif, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, highlighted the comprehensive training the graduates received. He stated that the program equipped them with essential knowledge and practical skills necessary for performing their humanitarian and security duties effectively.
Al-Sharif noted that this graduation marks the beginning of a new professional phase for the graduates. He emphasized the importance of treating citizens with dignity and adhering to the law, particularly in areas that require female representation. This approach aims to protect the privacy of families, women, and children while contributing to overall security and stability.
The Role of Ethics in Law Enforcement
The Undersecretary stressed that a true security officer’s strength does not solely rely on weaponry. Instead, it is defined by their ethics, sense of justice, responsibility, and ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in critical moments. He also mentioned the continuation of training programs, with future courses scheduled to take place in the capital, Sana’a.
Specialized Training for Women in Security
Colonel Rashid Al-Marani, the director of the Police Training and Qualification School, explained that this current course is the third of its kind. It included 84 female trainees who received specialized training in security skills, preparing them to undertake their assigned responsibilities effectively.
Al-Marani pointed out that the initiative aims to build a modern security apparatus and enhance women’s presence within the security framework. He underscored the vital role of female police officers in protecting women and minors and addressing issues that necessitate female involvement, thereby promoting community safety and preserving the privacy of targeted groups.
Voices of the Graduates
In a speech on behalf of her fellow graduates, soldier Enhar Al-Taj expressed gratitude for the efforts of the school leadership and trainers throughout the training period. She affirmed that the knowledge and skills acquired during the program represent a significant asset as they embark on a new chapter in community service and security work.
Ceremony Highlights
The graduation ceremony, attended by the Deputy Governors of Al-Mahwit, Ahmed Salah and Ali Al-Khatib, along with various security leaders and stakeholders, featured a documentary film. This film showcased the stages of training and qualification the trainees underwent, highlighting both theoretical and practical skills acquired during the course, alongside several accompanying program segments.
This event marks a significant step forward in integrating women into the security sector, fostering a more inclusive approach to law enforcement in Yemen.
