The local authority in Marib Governorate held a ceremony today to honor 11 athletes who represented the region in international and Arab tournaments. These events took place in Oman, Qatar, and Jordan, where the athletes achieved notable rankings and earned gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Recognition of Outstanding Performance
Ali Al-Fatimi, the Deputy Governor, and the Director General of the Youth and Sports Office presented trophies and certificates of appreciation to the honored athletes. This recognition aimed to celebrate their impressive representation of the governorate and its clubs. The athletes proudly raised the Yemeni flag during these prestigious sports events, which Al-Fatimi described as a source of pride for both Marib and Yemen as a whole.
Messages of Congratulations
During the ceremony, Al-Fatimi conveyed congratulations from Major General Sultan Al-Eradah, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council. He emphasized that the athletes’ achievements reflect the pride and appreciation of all residents and leaders of the governorate. Furthermore, he encouraged fellow athletes to enhance their skills and strive for excellence in future competitions.
