Leadership Changes in Military Command Announced

Today, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, who also serves as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, implemented a series of significant appointments within the Fourth Military Region. These changes are designed to strengthen military leadership and improve operational effectiveness, reflecting a strategic move to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces.

Key Appointments in the Fourth Military Region

The first decree, numbered (91) for the year 2026, outlines the following appointments:

  • Brigadier General Hamdi Hassan Mohammed Shukri has been appointed as the Commander of the Fourth Military Region. He will concurrently lead the Seventh Infantry Brigade while maintaining his previous role as the Commander of the Second Giants Brigade. Additionally, he has been promoted to the rank of Major General.
  • Brigadier General Muhtar Mohammed Saeed Mohsen Al-Saadi will take on the role of Chief of Staff for the Fourth Military Region.
  • Brigadier General Ali Hassan Ali Obaid Al-Jahouri has been designated as the Head of Operations for the Fourth Military Region.

New Advisory Roles Established

In a separate decree, numbered (92) for the year 2026, the President appointed Major General Fadl Hassan Mohammed Al-Amri as an advisor to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces for Defense Affairs, along with a promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General. Furthermore, decree (93) for the year 2026 appointed Major General Saleh Mohammed Hassan Salem as an advisor to the Minister of Defense.

The second article of these decrees states that they will take effect immediately upon issuance. They will also be published in the official gazette and military bulletins to ensure transparency and communication within the armed forces. These appointments reflect a strategic initiative to fortify military leadership and operational capabilities in the region.
