Leadership Council President welcomes business leaders in Hadhramaut province.

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, welcomed leaders from the Hadhramaut Governorate Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Omar Abdulrahman Bajersh, along with several businessmen from the governorate, at the Presidential Palace in the city of Mukalla on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by the governor, Mabkhout bin Madi.

The President emphasized the significance of the meeting with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hadhramaut, praising their humanitarian and developmental efforts amidst the unjust war ignited by the Houthi militias with support from the Iranian regime. He expressed pride in the private sector’s role in alleviating the humanitarian and service conditions, especially in education and health sectors, and securing essential goods for the market. He looked forward to an increase in their investments across various critical areas, given the significant financial pressures faced by state institutions.

President Al-Alimi highlighted the financial challenges confronting the government and their impact on the state’s public finances and investment program, which has been halted in many sectors, especially after the Houthi militia’s terrorist attacks on oil facilities in Hadhramaut. He praised the continuous support from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, aiding the government in overcoming these circumstances.

The President mentioned that the government is working on a framework to support the local authority’s capabilities in Hadhramaut, with the private sector being at the core of this promising framework. He expressed hope that the governorate would become a vital economic center, leveraging its exceptional potential and rich cultural heritage in the finance and business sector.

He reassured the state’s commitment to maximizing the private sector’s leading role in development, job creation, economic recovery, and addressing challenges in services and navigation. Efforts are being made to implement a unified window system to facilitate access to services, moving away from centralization and excessive bureaucracy.

The President listened to the priorities of the business community in Hadhramaut, their honorable national investments, and the support needed to facilitate their activities, protect industrial products, and enhance their competitive capabilities.

The meeting was attended by the Presidential Leadership Council’s advisors, Engineer Omar Al-Amoudi and Badr Basalma, and the Director of the Presidential Leadership Council’s Office, General Saleh Al-Maqaleh.
