Presidential Recognition

In a significant ceremony held on Wednesday, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, awarded Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, the President of the Arab Parliament, the May 22 Unity Medal of the First Order. This prestigious honor took place in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr, the President of the Shura Council, signifying the Yemeni Republic’s appreciation for Al-Asoumi’s courageous leadership of the Arab Parliament in defending the interests of the Yemeni people, their legitimate leadership, and their Arab and Islamic identity. The award also recognized his efforts in striving for the restoration of state institutions, as well as achieving peace, stability, and prosperity.

Bahrain’s Commendable Stance

The ceremony highlighted the commendable positions of the Kingdom of Bahrain within the coalition supporting legitimacy led by Saudi Arabia. President Al-Alimi praised the Arab Parliament and its president, Adel Al-Asoumi, for their advocacy of the nation’s causes, especially the Yemeni people’s plight at regional, international, and diplomatic parliamentary levels.

Al-Asoumi Expresses Gratitude

Al-Asoumi expressed his gratitude for the presidential honor, thanking President Al-Alimi, council members, and the government for the distinguished medal. He lauded the wise and prudent positions of the Yemeni Republic in responsibly pursuing peace efforts and prioritizing the Yemeni people’s welfare over other interests. Al-Asoumi also acknowledged Yemen’s significant and active historical role in enhancing joint Arab action.

Discussions on Unity and Challenges

The meeting also served as a platform for discussing local and Arab developments and the efforts required to strengthen unity and joint Arab action in the face of looming challenges. The ceremony and discussions were attended by the Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, members of the Yemeni Republic’s delegation in the Arab Parliament, including members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, Abdulwahab Maawada, Alawi Al-Basha, and Insaf Mayo.

This event underscores Yemen’s commitment to peace, stability, and the recognition of efforts that support these goals within the Arab community, further strengthening the bonds of unity and cooperation among Arab nations.
