Leadership Council head and members lay foundation stone for Taiz Martyrs’ Memorial.

Yemen Commemorates Fallen Heroes with Memorial Monument in Taiz

In a solemn ceremony, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, alongside council members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi and Sheikh Osman Majali, laid the foundation stone for the Martyrs’ Memorial Monument within the historic Cairo Castle in the city of Taiz. This initiative aims to honor and pay tribute to the valiant martyrs from the province and the republic who sacrificed their lives defending the republic’s values of freedom, justice, and equal citizenship against the despised racist Imamate project.

A Symbol of Valor and Sacrifice

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed profound pride in initiating the construction of this memorial, dedicated to the heroes of the armed forces, security personnel, military and security formations, and the popular resistance. These brave individuals etched their names in the annals of sacrifice and national struggle against the Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime. The choice of Taiz as the location for this monument reflects recognition and appreciation for the significant sacrifices and legendary resilience of its people in their critical battle against the terrorist Houthi militias and their unjust siege lasting over a decade.

Renewed Commitment to Support Martyrs’ Families

President Al-Alimi reiterated the Presidential Leadership Council and the government’s commitment to providing all forms of care for the wounded and the families of martyrs, acknowledging their great sacrifices in the quest to restore state institutions, end the coup, and champion the values of coexistence, freedom, dignity, and equal citizenship.

Distinguished Attendees Mark the Occasion

The event saw the presence of notable figures including the Presidential Leadership Council’s Advisor for Defense and Security Affairs, General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haydan, and the Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, highlighting the national importance of the occasion.

This initiative not only commemorates the ultimate sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes but also serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, reinforcing Yemen’s unwavering commitment to its foundational values and the well-being of its people.
