Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council Inspects Vital Road Rehabilitation Project

In a significant move towards infrastructure development, the President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, accompanied by council members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi and Sheikh Osman Majali, conducted an inspection visit to the strategic Hejat Al-Abd road rehabilitation and maintenance project. This project, linking the governorates of Taiz, Lahj, and Aden, receives funding from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.

Progress and Impact of the Rehabilitation Project

During the visit, the council’s leadership received a comprehensive briefing on the project’s progress. Spanning 9 kilometers, the initiative includes critical infrastructure work such as concrete pouring, construction of retaining walls to prevent landslides and the collapse of sandy blocks, and the rehabilitation of water drainage channels. The project also focuses on installing barriers and traffic safety elements to reduce road accidents and facilitate the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

President Al-Alimi urged the executing company to expedite the completion of the remaining work in accordance with the specified standards, quality, and timelines. The road, upon completion, will benefit over 4 million people, significantly impacting the region’s socio-economic landscape.

Gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Expressing profound gratitude, President Al-Alimi, on behalf of the council members and the government, acknowledged the generous support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the pivotal role of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in achieving this project and other vital initiatives across various Yemeni governorates.

This collaborative effort not only underscores the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia but also marks a crucial step towards enhancing Yemen’s infrastructure and improving the lives of its citizens.

The inspection of the Hejat Al-Abd road project by Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council members reflects a commitment to accelerating development projects and fostering regional connectivity. As the project nears completion, it promises to usher in a new era of safety, efficiency, and economic opportunity for millions in Yemen.
