Leadership Council Discusses National Crises

The Presidential Leadership Council convened a meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the head of the council, with the attendance of its members, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Osman Majali, and Faraj Al-Bahsani.

During the meeting, which utilized video conferencing technology and was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, Defense Minister Major General Mohsen Al-Daeri, and Chief of General Staff Major General Sagheer bin Aziz, the council discussed updates on the economic, living, and military situations in light of the ongoing threats and serious human rights violations by the Houthi militias. The council examined the repercussions of the militias’ terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international commercial ships.

The council reaffirmed its support for the economic and service reforms led by the government to improve living conditions and strengthen the national currency’s position, in close coordination with regional and international partners.

The Presidential Leadership Council commended the economic and developmental interventions by the brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and ensuring the state continues to fulfill its essential commitments, including paying employees’ salaries and supplying basic goods and services.

Moreover, the council reviewed the military situation of the armed forces across all formations and their high readiness to deter any escalation by the Houthi militias on various fronts.

The council praised the armed forces and military formations for their high vigilance in countering the terrorist militias’ attacks and thwarting their repeated attempts to revert to full-scale war, disregarding the prolonged suffering of the Yemeni people.

The Presidential Leadership Council renewed its call for the Houthi militias to exercise reason and positively engage with the sincere efforts led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve peace, stop the bloodshed, prioritize the Yemeni people’s interest over any other, cease exploiting the Palestinian people’s suffering and their just cause, and enable Yemenis to build their just state that respects human rights and the rule of law.
