Governor Launches Tree Planting Project in Al-Hawta City

On Tuesday, Governor Ahmed Turki of Lahij Province inaugurated a tree planting initiative aimed at enhancing the streets, sidewalks, and roundabouts of Al-Hawta City. This project, executed by the Search for Common Ground (SFCG) organization, collaborates closely with the local sanitation and urban improvement fund.

Project Details and Objectives

The tree planting project includes the planting of seedlings, provision of landscaping materials, and the installation of protective fencing for the trees. These efforts will significantly contribute to the beautification and environmental enhancement of key areas, including Dandar Street in the Al-Dubba area, the roundabout near the Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance, the Rijal roundabout, and the street adjacent to Ibn Khaldun Hospital in Al-Hawta. This initiative aligns with SFCG’s action plan for Lahij Province, which is dedicated to the year 2025.

Governor’s Remarks on Project Importance

During the launch event, which was attended by Al-Hawta District Director Sami Al-Jabli and SFCG Project Manager Amin Ismail, Governor Turki praised the high-quality and sustainable nature of the organization’s projects. He emphasized their role in developing Lahij’s districts and providing strategic developmental projects. These initiatives aim to create healthier urban environments by establishing green spaces for residents.

Commitment to Quality and Timeliness

Governor Turki reiterated the local authority’s commitment to facilitating the organization’s programs. He urged the contractors involved in the project to adhere to proper engineering standards and precise technical specifications, ensuring timely completion of the project.

This tree planting initiative marks a significant step towards improving the urban landscape of Al-Hawta City, fostering a greener and more sustainable environment for its residents.
