Volunteer Medical Camp for Heart Surgery Initiated in Mukalla
A volunteer medical camp focusing on adult heart surgery and catheterization has been launched at the Life Pulse Center for Heart Diseases and Surgery in Mukalla. This initiative is part of the Saudi Pulse Volunteer Program, which is funded by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works.
Ambitious Surgical Goals Over Ten Days
Running from May 5 to May 15, the camp aims to conduct a total of 120 surgeries. The procedures planned include:
- Cardiac catheterizations
- Stent placements
- Open-heart surgeries for adults
The primary goal of this initiative is to alleviate patient suffering and provide specialized medical services to heart patients from various provinces in Yemen.
Commendations for Saudi Arabia’s Humanitarian Efforts
Hassan Salem Al-Jailani, the Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut, praised Saudi Arabia for its significant humanitarian contributions through the King Salman Center. He highlighted that the center’s high-quality medical projects have greatly enhanced healthcare services in the region.
Mohammed Awad Bashaiab, President of the Charity Heart Disease Foundation, noted that the camp specifically targets patients who are already registered with the foundation. This marks the third edition of the Saudi Pulse Volunteer Program, continuing a longstanding partnership with the King Salman Center for Relief.
The efforts of this camp underscore a commitment to improving heart health services in Mukalla and reflect the positive impact of international collaboration in the healthcare sector.
