King Salman Center Launches Emergency Food and Shelter Assistance in Hadhramaut

Emergency Relief Project in Hadhramaut

On Saturday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center launched a significant project aimed at distributing emergency food and shelter assistance in Hadhramaut. This initiative highlights Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts, specifically targeting the most vulnerable families in the region.

Project Components and Beneficiaries

Executed in collaboration with the local organization Coalition for Good Humanitarian Relief, this project encompasses the distribution of:

  • 5,760 food baskets
  • 635 tents
  • 78 shelter kits

These resources are expected to benefit approximately 38,000 individuals from affected families residing in the districts of Shahr and Ghayl Bawazir.

Goals and Local Support

The primary objectives of this initiative are threefold:

  • Enhancing food security for beneficiary families.
  • Addressing the basic needs of households affected by recent environmental conditions.
  • Providing adequate shelter for those impacted by the recent rains and floods.

Hassan Al-Jailani, the Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut, expressed appreciation for the Saudi support represented by the King Salman Center. He underscored the importance of this assistance in alleviating the hardships faced by needy families, particularly with the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations. This initiative further underscores Saudi Arabia’s dedication to humanitarian aid and its proactive role in supporting communities in need.
