Harry Kane has matched the record of English goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton for the most appearances with the England men’s national team, reaching 125 matches. This milestone occurred during England’s match against the Czech Republic in the UEFA Nations League at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Kane achieved this feat at the same venue where he made his debut over 11 years ago. He first appeared as a substitute against Lithuania in 2015 and scored just 79 seconds after entering the match.
The Bayern Munich forward, who is also England’s all-time leading scorer with 89 goals, previously broke Gary Lineker’s record as the top English scorer in World Cup history during the last tournament, increasing his tally to 14 goals.
England secured a comfortable 3–0 victory over the Czech Republic, repeating their success just days after defeating them 2–0 away from home in the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League.
