ISIS spokesperson killed in a special security operation, marking a significant blow to the terrorist group’s leadership.

Major ISIS Leader Killed in Special Security Operation

On Tuesday, the Central Security Agency announced the death of Abu Hudhayfah al-Ansari, a prominent leader and spokesperson for ISIS. This significant development occurred during a special security operation carried out by joint forces, targeting one of the organization’s key media figures responsible for extensive violence and severe human rights violations.

Details of the Operation

The operation aimed to capture the terrorist leader and involved special forces from the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, alongside support from the Yemeni Counter-Terrorism Force (22nd Brigade). The mission concluded successfully with the death of al-Ansari, and importantly, there were no reported civilian casualties.

Al-Ansari’s Role in ISIS

Abu Hudhayfah al-Ansari stood out as one of the most notable media figures within ISIS. His name frequently appeared in various statements and audio recordings released by the group. He gained significant attention in August 2023 when he announced the death of the then-leader Abu al-Husayn al-Husayni al-Qurashi in an audio message, revealing the appointment of new leadership. Al-Ansari re-emerged in a recording broadcast by the organization in February 2026, highlighting his ongoing role in ISIS’s media operations until shortly before his death.

Ongoing Efforts Against Terrorism

This operation reflects the ongoing efforts of Yemeni security agencies and specialized forces to pursue elements and leaders of terrorist organizations. These actions aim to curb their activities and prevent them from regrouping, thereby enhancing security and stability in the country.
