Yemen's Interior Minister Leads Security Meeting in Taiz to Discuss Stability Efforts

Taiz, Yemen – In a significant move to bolster security and military conditions, Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haydan chaired an extensive meeting with the Security Committee in Taiz Governorate today. The gathering aimed to deliberate on the current security and military landscape and implement the directives of His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council.

Strengthening Taiz Against Challenges

During the meeting, which saw the presence of Taiz Governor and Security Committee Chairman Nabil Shamsan, Assistant Interior Minister Major General Mohammed Al-Mahmoudi, and the Ministry’s Inspector General Major General Dr. Faiz Galab, Minister Haydan emphasized the significance of President Al-Alimi’s visit to Taiz. He lauded the governorate’s resilience against the Houthi militias, backed by Iran, highlighting the role of the army, security forces, and popular resistance in maintaining the area’s freedom, dignity, and honor. Haydan expressed confidence that with continued collective efforts, the remaining directorates of Taiz would soon be liberated.

Haydan commended the security and military efforts that have led to the stabilization of the governorate. He directed a doubling of these security efforts to maintain public peace and tranquility and called for the swift implementation of the Presidential Leadership Council’s directives regarding the evacuation and restitution of private and public properties to their rightful owners.

Local Support and Challenges

Governor Shamsan welcomed the Interior Minister’s visit, which included inspections of security units and meetings with their heads to closely understand the challenges and needs facing the security apparatus in the governorate. He stressed the importance of executing the President’s directives and committed to delivering a comprehensive report on the actions taken within three months.

The meeting also featured presentations by Taiz Military Axis Chief of Staff Major General Abdulaziz Al-Majidi and the Director-General of Taiz Police Brigadier Mansour Al-Akhali. They reviewed the military and security situation in the governorate, outlining the challenges and requirements of the security units and military brigades. Their efforts to maintain security, stability, and defend the governorate from the Houthi militias, supported by the Iranian regime, were highlighted.

This meeting underscores the Yemeni government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in Taiz, a governorate that has shown remarkable resilience in the face of aggression. With the concerted efforts of military and security forces, backed by strategic leadership directives, Taiz is on a path to reclaiming its full sovereignty and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
